Modesto Police Officers' Association Endorses Congressman Adam Gray for Re-Election
MERCED, CA – Congressman Adam Gray today announced the endorsement of the Modesto Police Officers’ Association (MPOA) in his campaign for re-election to California’s 13th Congressional District. MPOA represents nearly 200 rank-and-file police officers serving the City of Modesto.
“The Modesto Police Officers' Association (MPOA) is proud to announce our endorsement of Adam Gray for re-election as our U.S. Congressman for California’s 13th Congressional District,” said MPOA PAC Chairman Robert Gumm on behalf of the organization and its president. “Adam is a lifelong resident of the Central Valley. He served as our area's California Assemblyman from 2012 to 2022. During that time, he was supportive of public safety and was able to effectively work across the aisle on bipartisan, common-sense issues. Adam was elected to represent California's 13th District in the U.S. Congress in 2025 and again proved he could effectively work across the aisle on bipartisan common-sense issues. Adam serves as the Whip of the Blue Dog Coalition which is a group of moderate members of the Democratic Party. Adam has been instrumental in getting funding for Public Safety equipment. Adam cares deeply about Valley families and supports our public safety professionals. The Modesto Police Officer's Association is proud to endorse Adam Gray to represent us in California's 13th U.S. Congressional district.”
“Keeping our communities safe is one of my highest priorities, and I have deep respect for the men and women in law enforcement who put on the badge every day to protect Valley families,” said Congressman Adam Gray. “The officers of the Modesto Police Department work tirelessly to reduce violent crime, protect our neighborhoods, and build trust throughout the community. Whether they’re walking the beat or using cutting-edge technology to crack down on crime, they demonstrate the professionalism and dedication our communities deserve. I’m honored to have their support.”
“Supporting public safety means making sure local law enforcement has the tools, technology, and resources they need to protect our communities,” Gray continued. “Throughout my time in the Assembly and Congress, I’ve worked across the aisle to secure investments for local law enforcement, crack down on organized crime and fentanyl trafficking, and strengthen the partnerships that keep Valley families safe. I’ll continue working alongside our local officers to make sure they have the support they deserve.”
Throughout his career, Gray has consistently worked to strengthen public safety across the Central Valley. His work includes:
Securing more than $1 million in federal funding for technology upgrades for the Modesto Police Department.
Introducing the Combatting Fentanyl Poisonings Act to expand grant funding for fentanyl awareness and prevention.
Authoring legislation in the California State Assembly to crack down on gangs and organized retail theft, and continuing that work in Congress.
