Gray helps Farm Bill move along

Rep. Adam Gray (D-Merced) was one of seven Democrats to join 27 Republicans and help move the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 out of the House Committee on Agriculture and on to a full vote in the House of Representatives.

Commonly referred to as the Farm Bill, this is the multiyear law governs an array of agricultural and food programs that are essential to Valley growers and producers.

In a discussion ranging from water storage to immigration to the existential threat of pests, Rep. Adam Gray brought together 50 of the Valley’s agricultural leaders in Los Banos as part of his Agriculture and Water advisory committee.

“We are the best agricultural Valley in the world, and we ought to be treated that way,” Gray told the assembled growers, producers, processors and water officials.

Congressman Gray talks Trump, tariffs and immigration

Jim and Toni Lamb sat in Alison’s Cafe House last week, wondering who was seated at the table next to them.

It was Rep. Adam Gray, who represents the 13th Congressional District (which includes a portion of Turlock) and had agreed to an interview with the Turlock Journal.

“We were listening and liked what we were hearing,” said Toni Lamb, who decided to cross the cafe to throw away some napkins and an empty cup before stopping at Gray’s table to ask bluntly, “Who are you?”
