His agenda is simple: lower the cost of food, housing, and utilities, secure more reliable water for Valley families and farms, cut the red tape that keeps infrastructure projects stuck on the drawing board, strengthen public safety and build an economy where families don’t have to choose between paying for health care and paying their rent.In Congress, Adam has sponsored legislation to lower food prices by limiting costly tariffs that drive up costs for families and hurt Valley farmers. He worked to pass the bipartisan Farm Bill to ensure that agricultural communities have the resources, support, and certainty they need to continue to feed families across the country. He has also worked to expand health care access for veterans and rural communities.Despite the chaos and partisan gridlock in Washington, Adam has continued to deliver results for the Central Valley. He has secured funding to rehabilitate a local fire station, investments in flood protection and water treatment projects, and brought back federal funding to repair roads and infrastructure across the region.Adam has also shown he is willing to stand up when the Valley’s interests are threatened. Adam helped secure more than $200 million to establish a joint medical school in Merced to train doctors in the Valley and address the region’s longstanding shortage of healthcare providers.He also secured billions in investments to strengthen the Valley’s water supply, including funding for new water storage, repairs to aging canals, and improvements to groundwater basins. Adam led the fight against the State Water Grab and organized the largest water rights rally in State Capitol history to defend the Valley’s water.Adam lives in Merced, where he helps lead a small business and teaches a course on the California Legislature at UC Merced.
